What is Hesgoal?
A plain-English explanation of the app, the name, and the package — including the parts that are easy to misunderstand.
The short answer
Hesgoal is an Android application published by the
Hesgoal App Team. It is distributed as an APK rather than
through the Play Store. The current release is version
3.3,
4.76 MB, package com.vvstreams.app.
The app is a client for live sport. It queries third-party sources and presents the links it finds. It does not host video, sell subscriptions, or hold broadcast rights. That distinction is central to how the app works and to the legal questions around it.
What it does
- Lists live sport events and the links it finds for them.
- Plays those links with Media3 / ExoPlayer.
- Supports background playback through a media session service.
- Installs on Android 7.0 and newer.
- Runs on Android TV and Fire TV through sideloading.
What it does not do
- It does not host video or run its own CDN.
- It does not hold broadcast rights for any competition.
- It does not guarantee that a particular match will be listed.
- It does not have a native Android TV launcher entry.
- It does not have an iOS build.
- It does not support in-app Google Cast in the current build.
Why the name is confusing
“Hesgoal” has been used by more than one operation online. The
original hesgoal.com site was a separate service; this
app is published by a different team and is not a continuation of
that site. The similarity is in the name, not in the ownership.
Search results also mix the product name, the package name and the
signing entity. The package is com.vvstreams.app
and the signer is CN=VVStreams. “VVStreams APK”
is another search term for the same publishing lineage, not a rival
app. The VVStreams page explains
that in detail.
Who publishes it
The app is published by the Hesgoal App Team. The team also operates this site. The releases are signed with the CN=VVStreams certificate, and the SHA-256 and certificate digest are published on the download page. The publisher page covers the package, certificate and Firebase project.
Where to get it
The only file we publish is the one linked from the download page. Do not install a copy from a mirror unless you can compare its SHA-256 with the published value. The hash verification guide explains how.
Is it legal?
That depends on where you live and what you watch. The app does not host the streams, but that does not make every stream licensed. The legal guide covers the framework in 11 countries. This site does not provide legal advice.
What the app is not
It is not a subscription service. It is not a broadcaster. It is not a “premium unlocked” build, and it is not a modified version of another app. Those phrases appear on mirror sites to attract clicks; they do not describe this package.
It is also not an official continuation of the old
hesgoal.com operation. The team publishes its own Android
app under the Hesgoal name and documents it here. If you need the
original site's history, that is a separate subject.
